Your Journey of Discovery Starts Here
TASC ran in 2025 and again in 2026, most recently bringing 25 students from 5 states and more than 10 tribal nations to Tulsa. Planning for TASC '27 is underway. TASC is a seven-day summer program run by current MIT students and staff designed to provide a unique social and educational experience for ambitious and talented high school students who are members of federally recognized tribes.
We’re looking for students who show curiosity and ambition, regardless of whether that comes from classes, arts, sports, community work, or hands-on projects.
Whether you're passionate about math, life sciences, philosophy, history, or even the universe itself, you'll find your place here.

Program
Tracks
Depth over breadth. Each track is taught by MIT students and staff, with hands-on sessions and real discussions.
AI Engineering
How machine learning actually works, from the ground up. Neural networks, backpropagation, computer vision, and building real systems.
DNA Technology
The genetic history and future of nature. Understanding CRISPR, DNA sequencing, and molecular biology.
Fundamentals of Reality
As Mark Twain said, "Truth is stranger than the strangest fiction." Quantum mechanics, relativity, particles, and the cosmos.
Chemistry & Energy
Nuclear fusion, organic chemistry, the atomic age, and the future of energy.

Eligibility & Application
Clear requirements. No gimmicks. If you’re curious and ambitious, we want to hear from you.
Who Can Apply
Tribal Enrollment Required: Applicants must be enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe.
Nomination Process: Students can be nominated by their schools, tribal education offices, or community leaders.
Direct Applications: Qualified students may also apply directly if they meet the eligibility criteria.
All program costs are fully covered regardless of nomination status.

Nomination Process
TASC seeks extraordinary students who are members of federally recognized tribes through a nomination-based selection process. Nominated students will be invited to complete a brief application and interview. If you are a tribal member, please contact your school or tribal department of education. If you are unsuccessful, please contact the TASC program director.
